Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery

Laparoscopy has transformed gynaecological surgery — replacing large incisions with keyhole precision, dramatically reducing recovery time, hospital stay, and post-operative pain.

Our Laparoscopic Equipment
  • High-definition laparoscopic camera & imaging system, 3D Karl Storz OR1, 4K Rubina system with integrated ICG technology, world’s thinnest laparoscopes and hysteroscopes.
  • Advanced energy devices for precise tissue dissection and haemostasis- Ethicon Harmonic, Olympus Thunderbeat, Covidien Ligasure, Karl Storz resectoscope, mini resectoscopes and Gubbini resectoscopes, Erbe Cautery, Medtronic Hysteroscopic tissue retrieval systems.
  • Full instrumentation for complex excision and reconstructive procedures
Laparoscopy for Endometriosis — Referral Center

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus — causing chronic pelvic pain, heavy periods, and often significant fertility challenges. At J K Women Hospital, we specialise in laparoscopic excision of endometriosis — the gold standard surgical treatment.

What laparoscopic endometriosis surgery offers:
  • Direct visualisation and precise excision of endometriotic deposits
  • Treatment of endometriomas (chocolate cysts) on the ovaries
  • Adhesiolysis — release of pelvic adhesions caused by endometriosis
  • Significant improvement in fertility outcomes — particularly important before IVF
  • DIE- Deep infiltrating Endometriosis- Rohan to add with involvement of bowel and bladder. Multidisciplinary team with involvement of colorectal and urological surgeon for specific cases with bowel and bladder involvement.
Why this matters for IVF:

Endometriosis — especially moderate to severe disease — can impair IVF success rates. Surgical treatment before IVF has been shown to improve outcomes. Our surgeons and fertility team work in close coordination to plan surgery and fertility treatment together.

Recovery:

  • Most patients return home the same day or within 24 hours
  • Return to light activity within 3–5 days; full recovery within 1–2 weeks

Hysteroscopy — Diagnostic & Operative

The Gold Standard in Uterine Assessment — Now Even More Precise

Hysteroscopy is a procedure in which a thin, lighted camera is passed through the cervix to directly visualise the inside of the uterine cavity — without a single incision. At J K Women Hospital, we have invested in the most advanced hysteroscopic technology available to deliver the safest, least painful, and most effective results, across all ages- from Adolescent to post menopausal and elderly beyond 70

Our Hysteroscopic Equipment — Setting the Highest Standard
  • Thinnest available Hysteroscopes —1.9mm Karl Storz worlds thinnest hysteroscope minimising discomfort, maximising access,
  • Mini Resectoscope — precision resection with minimal tissue trauma, Gubbini resectoscope.
  • Hysteroscopic Tissue Retrieval Systems Medtronic (smith & Nephew) — safer, faster polyp and fibroid removal
  • Golden Touch Technology — enhancing efficiency, safety, and therapeutic outcomes

Together, this equipment combination makes J K Women Hospital one of the most comprehensively equipped hysteroscopy centres in the region.

Ambulatory Hysteroscopy — Walk In. Walk Out. Walk Away Cured

One of the most patient-friendly advances in modern gynaecology, Ambulatory Hysteroscopy allows diagnostic and many operative procedures to be performed without anaesthesia, in an outpatient setting. The patient walks in, the procedure is completed, and she walks out — often cured, with no hospital admission and no anaesthesia risk.

  • No anaesthesia required — performed under local or no anaesthesia
  • Completed in 10–20 minutes in an outpatient setting
  • Immediate return to normal activity — same day
  • Ideal for diagnosis, biopsy, polypectomy, and targeted treatments
Trans-Vaginal Hysteroscopy — Preserving the Integrity of the Hymen

Our trans-vaginal hysteroscopy technique allows complete uterine assessment and treatment while fully preserving hymenal integrity — designed for unmarried women, adolescents, or those from cultural contexts where this is significant.

  • Ultra-thin hysteroscope passed with absolute precision — hymen preserved
  • Complete diagnostic and therapeutic capability without any compromise
  • Conducted with sensitivity and full patient understanding and consent
Hysteroscopy in Prepubertal Girls

Hysteroscopy in young, prepubertal girls requires specialised expertise and appropriate instrumentation. Our team is trained and equipped to perform safe uterine assessment in prepubertal patients when medically indicated — vaginal foreign body, unexplained bleeding, or suspected anomaly.

Hysteroscopy for Postmenopausal Bleeding

Any bleeding occurring after menopause must be investigated promptly. Hysteroscopy is the gold standard investigation for postmenopausal bleeding — enabling direct visualisation and targeted biopsy in a single procedure, far superior to blind D&C or ultrasound alone.

  • Any woman with post-menopausal bleeding — however light — must be seen urgently
  • Direct visualisation, targeted biopsy, and simultaneous treatment if needed
