Precision Care for Your Baby's Brightest Start

At J K Women Hospital, we believe that clarity is the foundation of a healthy pregnancy. Our Fetal Medicine department combines advanced diagnostic technology with specialised expertise to monitor your baby’s development with unmatched precision.

Led by specialist trained at premier institutes like Mediscan, Chennai, we provide a comprehensive range of screenings to ensure the wellbeing of both mother and child — from the earliest weeks of pregnancy through to delivery.

Our Specialised Screenings & Tests

Early Pregnancy & First Trimester Screening

Pregnancy & Fetal Scans: Essential ultrasounds to confirm viability, determine gestational age, and monitor early growth.

First Trimester Screening (NT Scan): A critical assessment performed between 11 and 13.6 weeks to screen for chromosomal health.

Biochemical Markers: Precision blood tests including Double Marker, Triple Marker, and Quadruple Marker to assess the probability of genetic conditions.

Advanced Genetic Testing

NIPT (Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing): A sophisticated, zero-risk blood test that analyses fetal DNA in the mother’s blood for highly accurate genetic screening — with no risk to the baby.

CVS (Chorion Villous Biopsy): Definitive diagnostic procedure performed under ultrasound guidance between 11-13 weeks

Amniocentesis: A definitive diagnostic procedure performed under ultrasound guidance when detailed genetic confirmation is required.

Fetal reductions for multifetal pregnancies

Detailed Structural Assessment

Anomaly Scan (Level II): A comprehensive head-to-toe structural survey performed between 18–22 weeks to evaluate the baby’s anatomy and organ development in detail.

Fetal 2-D Echo: Detailed assessment of fetal heart to assess the detailed structure and function of fetal heart

Fetal neurosonogram

3D-4D scans

  2. Hydration: For early scans (before 12 weeks), drink 2–3 glasses of water one hour before your appointment for a full bladder.
  3. Documentation: Bring all previous ultrasound reports, your doctor’s prescription, and your pregnancy record book.
  4. Comfort: Wear comfortable, two-piece clothing for easy access to the abdominal area.
  5. Timing: Arrive 10–15 minutes early for registration.
